Duncan Jones Hits the Big Time

Back in January, Poison Ivy told you about a film titled Moon that features Sam Rockwell, and was directed by David Bowie's son Duncan Jones. It was just a little film that could, making waves at Sundance.

Now, the Bowie offspring has taken his movie all the way to the top!!!

Check out the father/son pair at the Moon premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York Thursday.

Could Duncan be happier??!!

Quote of the Day

"Never complain without offering a solution! I'm often seen as complaining in situations when I lose. I see it more as an explanation of why I should have won."

Here Rhoda shines at the red carpet of the Cartier 100th Anniversary in America party in New York Thursday night.

She definitely stole the show!!!

Hanging Out with Rachael Ray

Poison Ivy had one of the coolest afternoons ever last Tuesday when we were invited to hang out with Food Network chef (and rock aficionado) Rachael Ray during a taping of her Emmy Award-winning Rachael Ray Show!!

Our episode featured a recipe for crispy steak fajitas and an interview with actress Tracy Pollan (wife of actor Michael J. Fox), who plays Beth Holloway in Lifetime's The Natalee Holloway Story, and will have a three episode arc on NBC's Medium next month.

"I'm scared of that stuff," Ray confessed during the interview, referring to Medium's focus on the supernatural.

Ray also was quick to confess why she was wearing a huge bandage on her left pinky during the entire taping!

"I took a nice chunk out [of it during a] 30 Minute Meals taping [over the weekend]," Ray said nonchalantly. "Secret ingredient: blood!"

The gal was comix!!!

Tune into the Rachael Ray Show tomorrow, 10 a.m. EST, to catch Ray's entire conversation with Pollan, and don't forget to look out for your very own Poison Ivy in the audience!!

Bon Jovi Hit the Big Screen

Bon Jovi hit the premiere of Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful at the Tribeca Film Festival Wednesday night.

Looks like the jury is split!

New Default Alert

Brad Pitt holds an umbrella over a sumo wrestler while filming a commercial for Japanese cell phone company Softbank in New York Tuesday.

If we were sumo dude, this would be our new default for sure!!!

Matt Giraud Exits Idol

Even after receiving a second chance at Idol victory, Matt Giraud wasn't able to earn enough votes to advance in the competition.

But don't feel bad, Matt!

Even rock crooner Adam Lambert was sucked into the bottom three. (What the F was that?)

Giraud, the JT-esque piano dueler from Kalamazoo, MI, definitely exited the stage with class.

"I'll remember being the cat with nine lives," he said.

Paramore's New LP Slated for September

It's been awhile since we've heard anything from our favorite Tennessee punk fivesome, but alas, Paramore has confirmed a September release for their upcoming album!

The band has been cooped up in Rob Cavallo's Calabasas home for the last few weeks, recording music singer Hayley Williams calls "some kind of therapist."

Blogs the firecracker:

"most of the songs you'll hear have to do with friendship. In fact, this is the first paramore album that wasn't written mostly about love relationships. i have made a lot of friends i've lost a lot of friends over the past couple years... and it's all gonna be there for you to dissect. i think, too, that the past couple years were some of the first times in a while that i've felt the burn of other people's ignorance... a lack of patience and a quickness to judge. it forced me to "grow up" and realize what's real. who's worth the pain and who's not. i'm most proud of these lyrics because they were the healer. a couple of these songs and their lyrics acted like some kind of therapist... forcing our band to talk out the issues we've dealth with... both as a band and personally. i owe a lot to these songs! of course, i'm nervous about putting it all out there on the table... but what else is there to do!? i'm just as excited to hear people's thoughts."

We're excited too, H!

Noel Gallagher Rocks Madison Square Bathroom

Apparently, Noel Gallagher likes to sing in the shower!

This time though, it's in the name of charity.

The Oasis frontman has recorded a solo version of "Waiting for the Rapture" in a backstage bathroom at New York's Madison Square Garden in honor of (RED)WIRE, a community service which provides HIV/AIDS vaccines in Africa, as well as music to subscribers.

Check out Gallagher's contributions above!

Quote of the Night

"Paula's frustrating, she's annoying and I can't understand half of what she's talking about - but there's incredible comfort between us. I think we're possibly secretly in love with each other."

Eric Bana's First Love: His Ford GT Falcon Coupe

Australian actor Eric Bana stopped by the Apple Store SoHo Tuesday to talk shop about his directorial debut: an indie doc about his first love, a Ford GT Falcon coupe, appropriately titled Love the Beast.

"Everyone has a beast in their lives," Bana told guests during the one-hour Q&A. "Whether it's a car or a computer or going to the gym.... This was my chance to put my head on the chopping block."

Bana, who's starred in blockbusters such as Munich and Black Hawk Down, says he understands the effort needed to put a smaller film on the map. Especially when that map is the Tribeca Film Festival.

"I'm really thrilled and appreciative to be at Tribeca," Bana said. "I've acted in a lot of smaller films... (so) I know how lucky I am to be here."

The film, which features appearances by Dr. Phil and Jay Leno, premieres at Tribeca tonight, but check out an exclusive clip of Bana below, talking about a crash that totaled his Falcon and nearly cost him the movie. ("Tony and I went into a tree head-on at about 50 mph," he says.)

The trek kicks off May 23 at Sasquatch Festival in Quincy, WA and closes out in Jersey City at All Points West July 31.

You know Poison Ivy will be crossing the bridge for that one!!!

Quote of the Day

"We know so much about every actor on planet Earth. We know how they like to slice their avocado, what they named their baby. When I'm watching them save the world in a movie, I don't want to be thinking about their baby's name. I will now go on record to say I'm not going to even name my kid."

Lindsay Goes Too Low

We've always thought Lindsay Lohan was a little on the skinny side....

But now, we're sure!

Look at this pic of her vacationing in Hawaii over the weekend.

That spine cannot be healthy!!!

Linkin Park Penning Song for Transformers Movie

Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda has taken to his blog to announce Linkin Park's new song for the upcoming Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen movie.

Writes Shinoda:

BREAKING NEWS: Linkin Park will be working on the score for Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen.

Although I wasn't at liberty to say it before, the song I've been referencing here on in the past few actually being done for Michael Bay's new Transformers film, due out June 24th.

In addition--and probably ever cooler--we have been offered the unique opportunity to help score the film. The song we wrote is being used as one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the (very large) team scoring the film.

My bandmates and I are working with award-winning film composer (and resident ass-kicker) Hans Zimmer. We met with Hans last week, and heard some of the incredible things he and his guys have done with our new song. In the next few days, we'll be doing some work with Hans' amazing writing and recording crew.

Michael Bay has shown us select scenes from the film, and it looks incredible. I can't wait for you to see it.

We can't wait either!

Busta Rhymes, GZA Added to Rock the Bells

Busta Rhymes, The GZA and The Knux have been added to the already fantastic lineup for 2009's Rock the Bells Festival.

Already performing are Big Boi, Nas, Common, The Roots and Damian Marley.

The fest will kick off June 27 in Chicago and hit 9 other major cities this year.

Creed Back in Business

In the wake of Green Day, Blink-182 and Korn's revival, 90s rockers Creed are also getting back to business!

Just don't call it a comeback.

“I wouldn’t call it a reunion,” says frontman Scott Stapp. “It’s a renewing and a rebirth. I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again. We’re all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression.”

Creed split nearly five years ago, after Stapp battled an addiction to drugs and faced a slew of legal troubles. But now the boys are planning a big return, one that comes with a new record and headlining tour.

"The goal is get release the first single before the tour and have the album come out during the tour or right after,” Stapp says.

"This band is my first love and a first love that’s stood the test of time. It’s not hard to step away from any kind of personal agenda when you are totally fulfilled.”

Michael Phelps Loves His Rap

Poison Ivy ran into Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps Wednesday at the grand opening of OMEGA's Fifth Avenue boutique store in New York, and chatted with the 14-time Olympic gold medalist about (what else?) music.

"I'm a huge Jeezy fan," Phelps told us. "He's on [my iPod] the most, along with A Tribe Called Quest. And lots of Biggie."

Who knew Phelps was such a rap fan???
