Vera Wang: "The Bride Wore Black" at New York Fashion Week

It's 11:08 a.m., and Vera Wang is meticulously inspecting models backstage before they hit the runway for her New York Fashion Week show Tuesday.

"No one's here yet," the designer scoffs, no doubt alluding to the fact that the Badgley Mischka show ran overtime and threw off the showtimes for the day.

Suddenly, Anna Wintour waltzes by with four handlers.

Wang glances at her coordinator.

It's time to start the show.

"The Bride Wore Black," Wang's collection for Fall 2010, certainly had its dark moments.

Pieces like the black dry wool twill jacket with organza corsages (top photo) alternated with charcoal furs and paperbag pants to create what Wang describes as "a new and delicate emphasis on day and tailoring tempered with sleek silhouettes, sporty underpinnings and feminine elements."

Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" soundtracked the set, while Wintour and Fashion Director of Elle and Marie Claire Nina Garcia watched on with interest.

We're thinking will be our favorite show of the week!
