Pete Seeger Performs "Over the Rainbow" at WhyHunger Benefit

It's a great night to be a New Yorker!

Thousands of people gathered at Gotham Hall Monday night to attend WhyHunger's 35th Anniversary Benefit dinner honoring Pete Seeger, Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson.

WhyHunger helps provide nutritious and affordable meals to millions of people globally, while also supporting grassroots organizations with their efforts.

Seeger performed a powerful set for the Black Tie-d crowd that included "We'll All Be A-Doubling," a group version of "All My Life's A Circle," and an amended cover of "Over the Rainbow."

"If plucky little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why can't you and I?" he sang, noting that the song should be about helping others - not just ourselves.

Check out that performance in its entirety, below.
