Tweet of the Day

"It upsets me to see young women in the spotlight advocating plastic surgery. ANY surgery is extremely dangerous&should not be taken lightly, much less, used as a tool to increase notoriety or popularity. By putting this on magazine covers, we are somehow legitimizing the dangerous lengths to which some will go for fame and 'beauty' There are so many REAL ISSUES in this world that NEED attention. Let's try to take a moment to be grateful we are ALIVE."

Teddy Pendergrass Dead at 59

R&B legend Teddy Pendergrass passed away Wednesday at the age of 59 after a yearlong battle with colon cancer. The five-time Grammy nominee earned fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes in the 70s, singing such classics as "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "The Love I Lost," before beginning a solo career later that decade.

"To all his fans who loved his music, thank you," son Teddy Pendergrass II said. "He will live on through his music."

Norah Jones Hosts Secret NYC Show

"It's weird when you can see the audience so well," Norah Jones tells the 80 or so people at PC Richard Theater in New York's Tribeca neighborhood Wednesday night. The five-time Grammy Award winner has been selling out arenas for the last ten years - so she wants us to know she has some intimacy issues.

"Luckily, you're all attractive," Jones adds quickly. "And not talking on the phone. Or yawning."

Jones serenaded the group - composed of Clear Channel radio winners and longtime fans - for close to an hour, playing mostly new tunes off of 2009's The Fall ("Back to Manhattan," "Chasing Pirates," "Young Blood"), and filtering in old favorites ("Don't Know Why," "Come Away With Me"). Perhaps most exciting was a vibrant electric cover of Wilco's "Jesus, etc.".

Poison Ivy was so excited to be a part of this special event... Jones will be headlining Madison Square Garden in March - and we're not sure the next time we'll see her in this type of setting!

"I feel like we've gotten so intimate with each other," Jones concluded, before exiting the stage.

"We'll always have this." she laughed. "Thanks for coming."

Check out the shortest video in the history of concert footage, above: five seconds or so of "Come Away With Me," while security wasn't looking.

Wyclef Pleads for Help after Earthquake Shakes Haiti

Wyclef Jean is pleading for help after a 7.0 earthquake plagued his home country of Haiti Tuesday.

"Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced," Jean wrote on his website, of the largest earthquake the Caribbean island has seen in over 200 years.

"I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse," Wyclef continued.

"The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now. President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands 'ready to assist' the Haitian people. The U.S. military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible."

While no numbers have officially been reported, officials predict the Haiti earthquake death toll to be in the thousands.
