Whitney Houston Hospitalized, Postpones Three Concerts
Whitney Houston was hospitalized in Paris on Tuesday for an upper respiratory infection, causing the singer to postpone three of her European concerts.
"With great disappointment, Whitney Houston has postponed her first three concerts in the UK due to illness," a rep at RCA said.
"Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover."
The shows scheduled in Manchester for Thursday and Friday have been pushed back to June 16 and 17, respectively, and the concert in Glasgow has been rescheduled for May 1.

Coheed and Cambria Preview Year of the Black Rainbow Tracks at Brooklyn Show
With just over a week before the release of their new record Year of the Black Rainbow, prog rockers Coheed and Cambria visited a handful of intimate venues - including Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg Wednesday night - to preview new material for fans.
"We wanted to celebrate the old, bring in the new with this Northeast stretch," singer Claudio Sanchez told the 500-something people in the audience, treating them to YOTBR tracks like "The Broken," "Far," "World of Lines," and recent single "Here We Are Juggernaut."
CoCa also ventured into their extensive past at the gig, playing fan favorites "A Favor House Atlantic," "Time Consumer," and an encore of "Welcome Home."
The band's next move is headlining a 30-date U.S. theatre tour with Circa Survive and Torche - so it was nice to see them perform in a quieter atmosphere!
Poison Ivy also had the privilege of hanging out with CoCa pre-show, where we witnessed a vocal warm-up that included the "Ra Ra Ah Ah Ah" intro to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance"!
"When Claudio and I heard the first line, 'I want your ugly/I want your disease,' we knew it was going to be an awesome song," says a friend close to the band.
Sanchez laughed when we asked if Coheed would ever think of covering "Bad Romance" (Coachella, anyone?) - but he later inquired about Hayley Williams' rendition of the jam, making us think he's considering!
Could be amazing!
In the meantime, check out Coheed's performance of "Far" at Music Hall of Williamsburg Wednesday, below, along with snapshots of the night, above.
