Heart Perform New Cuts at Intimate NYC Show

It's an eighties women in rock week in NYC!

First, Pat Benatar resurged in Times Square, then Blondie hit the town covering Taio Cruz, and finally, power rockers Heart emerged at Tribeca's P.C. Richard & Son Theater to celebrate the release of their new record, Red Velvet Car.

"This song is about calling someone out," frontwoman Ann Wilson said, of new track "WTF."

"We got the [hook] from an entry we read in our mom's journal after she passed away," guitarist Nancy Wilson explained, prefacing the powerful lyric: "The hardest thing you'll ever learn is what bridge to cross and what bridge to burn."

"She still has the last word from the grave!" Nancy laughed.

The ladies also played older cuts for the crowd, including "Barracuda" and "Dog & Butterfly," while getting nostalgic about their first time seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show at age 11 and knowing they wanted to play music.

"We wanted to be the Beatles," Ann recalled. "Not the Beatles' wives or girlfriends, but the Beatles."

"If we weren't siblings, I think we would have found each other and found a way to make music," Nancy said.

Check out Heart's fantastic performance of new jam "WTF," above.

First Listen: Audio-ology's "Pretty Girls"

We can't stop listening to the fantastic new track by Audio-ology, "Pretty Girls," which recalls an early Outkast with a throwback rock edge (think: Gym Class Heroes).

Audio-ology is composed of Louisiana's Zach Goyne and Detroit's Chaz Logan, who modestly explains the band's sound:

"What we’re doing is something so innovative, it will shock the world."

Good luck!
