Inadvertent Mashup: Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars "Billionaire"

We just had a crazy idea.

On Monday, we saw Bruno Mars perform the chorus of "Billionaire" at Advertising Week and Billboard's AMP'd Up! Opening Concert.

On Thursday, we saw Travie McCoy perform the verses of "Billionaire" at Hennessy and Hot 97's Artistry NYC event at SOBs.

It's a shame these two couldn't team up live for the jam - would have been great! - but as we understand it, you have to be in a different city every night, oh I I swear, if you want to be a billionaire.

Thankfully, with the magic of iMovie, Poison Ivy was able to sew their separate parts into one.

Check out the Mars/McCoy inadvertent mashup, above.

Travie McCoy Performs Intimate Set at Hennessy Artistry Party

It's a great night to be a New Yorker!

Especially if you were one of the few hundred who attended Hennessy and Hot 97's Artistry NYC event Thursday night at SOB's!

Peter Rosenberg and Angie Martinez served as the night's hosts, while songstress Wynter Gordon and rapper XV opened the show for Travie McCoy.

Poison Ivy interviewed McCoy almost four years ago - we were working at our college paper and talked to McCoy's band Gym Class Heroes on the cusp of their success - so it was exciting to see him branch out and flourish!

Full circle!

Check out McCoy's performance of "We'll Be Alright," sampling Supergrass' "Alright," above.
