Miss America Teresa Scanlan: 'Age Doesn't Matter'

Poison Ivy trekked to Lavo Thursday night to chat with the newly-crowned Miss America Teresa Scanlan at an Artistry Beauty event.

"Age doesn't matter," the 17-year old told us, of her controversially young age.

"I wanted to be Miss America, and I thought: 'Why should I wait? Let me be an example to people my age that you can accomplish your goals at any age'."

Scanlan added that her dream wasn't always to be Miss America.

"When I was ten, I wanted to be president of the United States," Scanlan said, noting that she still intends to become a criminal prosecutor, and a judge.

"Miss America is good training for president," Scanlan added.

"It's good practice getting people to vote [for you]!"
