American Idol Selects Top 13

After America selected its top five male and female contestants on American Idol Thursday (that would be Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez, and Pia Toscano), the A.I. judges held a heart-attack wild-card competition that earned Naima Adedapo, Ashthon Jones and Stefano Langone spots in the show's Top 13.

Can't wait to see what unfolds next week!

Quote of the Night

"When I lay in bed with my wife and we watch The Bachelor, she thinks I am such a great catch after she watches that moron bachelor. He's a very good-looking guy but he's got the personality of an eggplant."

I SPY NY: Vanessa Hudgens, Mike Tyson, and More

I spy in NY...

Vanessa Hudgens cozying up to Gaelan Connell at the Knicks/Hornets game at Madison Square Garden Wednesday (top photo), Mike Tyson attending the premiere of Animal Planet's Taking On Tyson at the Gansevoort Park Avenue Wednesday (middle photo), Taylor Momsen performing with The Pretty Reckless at Santos Party House Wednesday night (bottom photo), Lala Vasquez and Erika Katz hitting the Cozy Friedman Book Launch at Cozy's Cuts Wednesday, Bar Boulud's chef sommelier Michael Madrigale hosting a "Wine Tour De France" at the French Institute Alliance Francaise Monday, Chanel putting together an exclusive dinner party at La Grenouille for new ambassador to "Mademoiselle" handbags Blake Lively Wednesday, and Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield presenting Jimmy Fallon with his own Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor "Late Night Snack" on the two year anniversary of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon at Rockefeller Center Wednesday.

Pia Toscano, Thia Megia Lead Top 12 American Idol Girls

Pia Toscano, Thia Megia, Lauren Alaina, Karen Rodriguez and Lauren Turner gave our favorite performances during the Top 12 girls night on American Idol Wednesday, with judge Jennifer Lopez commenting that this crop of ladies is "supremely talented" during the broadcast.

Pia closed the show with a pitch-perfect, standing-ovationed "Stand By Me," 15-year old Thia Megia performed a stripped-down, spotlit "Out Here On My Own," 16-year old Lauren Alaina belted a sultry, energetic "Turn On the Radio," Karen Rodriguez alternated Spanish and English during a surprisingly powerful "Hero," and Lauren Turner - while not "in-the-camera" enough, has one of our favorite voices of the season.

Behind the Scenes of Madonna's 'Material Girl' Shoot

Kelly Osbourne trekked to the East Village back in January to help Madonna shoot her new campaign for clothing line "Material Girl" - and those photos have emerged!

Daughter Lourdes 'Lola' Leon styled the shoot, while photographer Brooke Nipar shot the clothes, which will be available exclusively at Macy's.

John Mayer, Carey Mulligan Hit Happy Thank You More Please After-Party

John Mayer, Carey Mulligan, Adrian Grenier, Ed Westwick, Russell Simmons, Gabourey Sidibe, Amar'e Stoudemire, Ricky Van Veen, Katie Lee Joel, Josh Radnor, Malin Akerman and Zoe Kazan were just a handful of names who hit the Boom Boom Room late Wednesday to celebrate the after-party of the Sundance Award-winning film HappyThankYouMorePlease.

John Mayer took some time away from best boy Ricky Van Veen (top photo) to mingle with Carey Mulligan, leading her through the venue hand-in-hand and introducing her to his friends, while Adrian Grenier had his eye on Katie Lee Joel, but didn't seem to know who she was. ("What's your full name?" he asked, tapping her number into his cell phone).

The gorgeous Zoe Kazan held nothing back - dancing feverishly in a baby blue number - not even quitting when missed her step and fell over on the floor, while Ed Westwick channeled a Sex Pistol, showing up in a trimmed biker hat and leather jacket.

Only in New York, kids.

Top 12 boys perform on American Idol

The top 12 boys performed live for the first time on American Idol Tuesday, with some strong contenders emerging and some hard-to-watch less-than-strong on the screen.

In the front of our minds were Paul McDonald (with his dance-tastic, throwback "Maggie May"), Brett Loewenstern (whose "hair shakes" were awkward but vocals brilliant during "Light My Fire"), Casey Abrams (an unlikely sex god during "I Put A Spell On You"), Jacob Lusk (who can sing the phone book, but appeared slightly dated as he belted "A House is Not a Home"), and James Durbin (who commanded the stage during a raging "You've Got Another Thing Comin").

We can't wait to see what the girls come up with tonight!

Serj Tankian Releases Imperfect Remixes

We've been sitting on this one for weeks (thanks to our friends at Warner Bros. Records) - but finally, Serj Tankian's four-track EP Imperfect Remixes is out.

Imperfect Remixes recreates tracks from Tankian's September release Imperfect Harmonies - including "Goodbye - Gate 21" (featuring Tom Morello), and the vocally-haunting, electronically-promiscuous "Invisible Love - Deserving?"

It's a big week for Tankian. His new rock musical Prometheus Bound- featuring the Shirley Manson-vocaled "The Hunger" - will premiere Friday.

Quote of the Day

"That's why we fight with each other. That's why we drink. We're living in a house for two months with that shit. We can't have cellphones, TV, radio or the Internet. If the president died, we'd have no idea. There's no normalcy. It's just like prison, with cameras."

The Oscars in Photos: Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Anne Hathaway, and More

Co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway played uninterested-in-Hollywood dreamboy and overeager fan-girl (respectively), while Inception took awards for Cinematography, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects, The Social Network for Film Editing, Soundtrack, Adapted Screenplay, Alice in Wonderland for Art Direction and Costume Design, and Toy Story 3 for Original Song by Randy Newman.

Lady Gaga Debuts 'Born This Way' Video

Lady Gaga has debuted the seven-minute, skeletal, Star Trek, Pink Floyd-inspired video for her new single "Born This Way."

"How can I protect something so perfect, without evil?" she concludes, in her two-minute monologue.
