New Cars!

Seventies rockers The Cars are back with their first single in almost 25 years!

"This is not a reunion - it's more like a conjunction," singer Ric Ocasek told Rolling Stone.

"Sad Song" is the name of the comeback single from the band's forthcoming May 10 album release Move Like This, which is being hailed to reflect the "precise swagger, art-rock minimalism" we've come to love from The Cars.

And the video was shot in DUMBO!!

We love it!

Preview: Jack Germain Handbags Lookbook

On Saturday night, handbag goddess Jack Germain invited a handful of friends and bloggers (including yours truly) to New York's Lafayette House for a champagne-fueled, fireplace-raging photo shoot for her upcoming Fall/Winter 2011-2012 lookbook!

Lafayette House is a 1800's, antique-decorated brownstone restored in New York's Noho neighborhood, so it made the perfect backdrop for Germain's elegant yet timeless collection.

Check out a preview of the shoot, above.

Kevin Bacon, Whoopi Goldberg rally for Knicks

It's a great night to be a New Yorker!!

Poison Ivy trekked to our second Knicks game at Madison Square Garden this week (I think we're addicted), courtesy of the wonderful folks at American Express!!!

AmEx hooked us up with a gorgeous club suite, where we mingled with players like John Starks, Charles Smith and Earl "the Pearl" Monroe, and watched the Knicks battle the Boston Celtics (who won, 96-86).

In the house cheering on the NYK were Kevin Bacon, Kyra Segwick, Whoopi Goldberg, Spike Lee, Donald Trump, Dennis Crowley and Jill Martin.

Thanks AmEx!

Chris Brown throws tantrum, breaks window at Good Morning America

R&B singer Chris Brown threw a violent tantrum Tuesday at the Good Morning America studios in Times Square after co-host Robin Roberts asked him several questions about his 2009 domestic violence incident with Rihanna.

"I think today is the album day so that's what I'm focused on," Brown deflected during the interview.

"Definitely this album is what I want [us] to talk about and not what happened two years ago... I'm here to talk about the album."

TMZ reports:
Brown freaked out [after the interview], storming into his dressing room and screaming so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security. One source present tells us he smashed a window in his dressing room, and the glass shattered and some shards fell onto 43rd and Broadway. ABC security tells TMZ ... the window was shattered with a chair.
Brown reportedly then removed his shirt and left the studio, skipping his planned second performance.

Ricky Martin, Russell Simmons recognized at GLAAD Awards

Ricky Martin, Russell Simmons, True Blood's Denis O'Hare and Patrick Wilson were a handful of stars recognized for their contributions to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community at the GLAAD Media Awards Saturday in New York.

Hosted by Bravo exec Andy Cohen, the ceremony was designed to award "fair, accurate and inclusive representations" of LGBTs.

"I just want to be free. I can say today I'm free," Martin said after earning the Vito Russo Award for outstanding contributions toward eliminating homophobia.

"And for that I definitely need to thank my parents for being so supportive, my mother and my dad for their unconditional love, and my friends, my family, my fans. And my partner in crime and my boyfriend Carlos."
