Lil Wayne Launches Website from Prison

Lil Wayne has launched a website from prison titled Weezy Thanx You, in which he will communicate with fans during his year-long sentence.

"I want my fans to know I love you,” the rapper wrote in his first post Friday, entitled "Gone Til November."

"I want all of you to know that I appreciate all the mail I get, and this is my way of saying thank you."

The rapper also plans to update fans on his progress in his letters, noting that he will continue blogging for during the sentence, and has been spending his time working out and reading the bible.

"I read the Bible everyday," Weezy writes. "Jail didn’t make me find God, He’s always been there."

The rapper was sentenced to a year in prison following a weapons charge back in 2007. There are currently 213 days until Lil Wayne will be free.

Lil Wayne Sentencing Postponed Due to Court Fire

A fire that broke out in the basement of the New York courthouse Tuesday morning has caused the yearlong prison sentence of rapper Lil Wayne to be postponed.

According to courts spokesman David Bookstaver, the fire started in a wooden contractor's shed around 10:30 a.m. and injured five firefighters, two civilians and one prisoner.

Wayne's sentencing stemmed from an incident in July 1007, when a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun was found on his tour bus.

According to his lawyer Stacey Richman, a new sentencing date has not been confirmed.

Video: Lady Gaga, Elton John Rock Grammys with Piano Duel

Sunday's 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were filled with powerful moments - Drake, Eminem and Lil Wayne's "Forever," Prince and Paris Jackson's thank-you to their late father's tribute, Bon Jovi's first Grammy's performance in their 25-year career - but no performance stood out in our minds more than the opening piano duel between Lady Gaga and Elton John.

"I hope you don't mind that I put down in words, how wonderful life is with Gaga in the world," John sang, during their mash-up of "Your Song" and "Speechless."

"Thank you, love you, sir Elton John," Gaga retreated.

Check out the magic, above.

Wyclef Jean Performs Free Western Union Concert in Times Square

It's just before noon on Monday, and hundreds of people are lined up in front of Nokia Theatre in Times Square to see Wyclef Jean team up with Western Union for a free "lunchbreak" concert.

"If you can make it here in the daytime," Wyclef tells the crowd, "then it's not about the music. It's about the movement."

The movement Jean is referring to are environmental and social initiatives he seeks to reinforce as both a musician and Goodwill Ambassador to Haiti.

In addition to these posts, Jean has plenty to celebrate. First, his very own Western Union Visa prepaid debit card debuted today (complete with image of him on the front), and his new mixtape From The Hut To The Projects To The Mansion, drops tomorrow. The record features everyone from DJ Drama to Eve to Cyndi Lauper to Timbaland.

Wyclef called Drama onstage during today's show, along with rapper Maino, for an energetic performance of "All the Above," while Western Union President Stewart Stockdale had his moment of glory during an impromptu dance of "You Don't Wanna Go Outside."

Clef also mixed Lil Wayne's "A Milli" with his Fugees classic "Fu Gee La," and dove into the audience during "You Don't Wanna Go Outside" with this warning to security: "Calm down man... I'm not 50 Cent. I know how to punch people out myself."

Check out videos of all, below.

Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland will be featured in upcoming episodes, along with other artists the network is interested in profiling.

Says VH1 executive VP of original programming Jeff Olde:

"We always hear about the show, even now. It's amazing how much affection viewers have for it."

Smart People Dig U2, not Lil Wayne

According to a new study, U2 fans are among the most intelligent of all music lovers.

Beethoven listeners were rated the smartest, while fans of Radiohead and Bob Dylan also fared well.

Beatles, Hendrix, Sinatra and Queen fans were found to be averagely intelligent.

The study was completed by comparing a person's favorite artists with their standardized test scores.

Most stupid on the list??

Lil Wayne fans.

M.I.A. Does Not Give Birth at Grammys

Woulda been awesome, but M.I.A.'s water did not break onstage during her Grammys performance tonight.

Instead, she, Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z and Lil Wayne performed a slightly chaotic rendition of "Swagger Like Us."

We were secretly hoping that the stress of sharing the stage with rap's elitists would have induced her pregnancy!!!

Oh well.

Lil Wayne Goes Rock?

Lil Wayne was arguably the biggest rapper of 2008.

So what in tarnation is he thinking switching to rock in '09????
If the shoe fits, Weezy!!!

According to his publicist, Weezy's next record, Rebirth, due April 7, will be a completely rock album. Drake, a rapper on Weezy's label, confirmed that notion, citing that Weezy wanted to do something different to "throw individuals off." Kinda like Kanye.

While I sort of applaud the guy for changing up his formula, I have to wonder, does he even have singing chops??

If not, does he plan to rap-rock his way through it?? Kevin Rudolf style??

I'm so cold. And scared.
